Box Jump basic description: Elevating the center of mass to a predetermined stable surface by jumping
Performing the Box Jump
- >Stand about a foot away from the box with feet underneath the hips and arms by the sides
- >Bend the knees and swing your arms back
- >Swing the arms forward and jump off two feet in order to land on the box with two feet
- >On landing, bend the knees to absorb any impact
- >After landing, stand up straight (open the hips) and either step off the box or jump off the box
- >If jumping off the box, be sure to bend the knees upon landing
